Obituary of Dawn L. Weins

Dawn Lorraine Weins, 96, of St. Petersburg, FL went home to her eternal father on April 5, 2024.

She was born to Carl F. and Ella (Hilgemann) Wendorf on August 11, 1927 in Schofield, WI. She was married to Willard Joseph (Tiny) Weins on August 9, 1952 in Schofield, WI. They then moved to St. Petersburg, FL where they started Weins Insurance Agency, Inc, which was actively in business until 2004.

Dawn was active in her parish, Transfiguration Catholic Church, until late 2019. She enjoyed her periodic lunches with the girls and was passionate about taking care of any cat that wandered by her home. Her last 3 years were spent at The Apollo Rehab Center in St. Petersburg after suffering a fall at home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother Gerhardt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St Paul’s Catholic Church, 1800 12th Street N, St. Petersburg, on April 18th at 10am. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Clearwater, FL. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.

Memorials contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and School in Athens, WI in memory of Willard Joseph Weins.
