Obituary of John D Hayes

Mr. John D. Hayes, age 90, of St. Petersburg, passed away on April 30th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

John met the love of his life, Barbara, in high school. John served honorably in the United States Air Force, and he married Barbara on a trip home from training. They spent 68 wonderful years together. The couple enjoyed cruising in their retirement years.

John is survived by his soul mate, Barbara; their four children John (Debra) Hayes of Jacksonville, Stephen Hayes of St. Petersburg, Lynne (Thomas) Coon of Ft. Lauderdale, and Sharon (Patrick) Harker of Floral City; as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of John's Life will be held on Friday, May 17th, 2024 at 12:00pm at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Street N, St. Petersburg, 33704. He will then be interred at Bay Pines National Cemetery with Military Honors at 1:30pm.
