William B. McQueen, CFSP
President, Director & Owner

 | Bill is a lifelong native of St. Petersburg. Born at St. Anthony's Hospital, he graduated from Shorecrest Preparatory and then received his accounting degree from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He worked with Arthur Andersen & Co., CPAs and then attended University of Florida College of Law where he graduated with highest honors. He practiced law in the Tampa Bay area for several years before attending St. Petersburg Junior College Funeral Service Program and becoming a licensed funeral director.
Bill currently is the President of the firm and is responsible for its overall direction and operations.
Bill attends St. Raphael's Catholic Church and his civic involvements are many, including Suncoasters, Dragon Club (President), St. Petersburg YMCA (Past Chairman), Leadership St. Pete, St. Anthony's Hospital, SPJC Foundation Board of Directors, Calvary Catholic Cemetery Board of Directors, The Canterbury School of Florida (President & Trustee), Museum of Fine Arts, Cremation Association of North America, and several Masonic organizations.
Bill is married to Maria "Ria" Davis and lives on Snell Isle with his three young daughters.

John T. McQueen, CFSP

 | John, a native of St. Petersburg, was born at St. Anthony's Hospital. He graduated from Shorecrest Preparatory School and received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from St. Leo's University. John also graduated valedictorian of his class at Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA.
John is Vice-President and Chief Operations Officer for the funeral homes and crematory. He also serves as the President of Sunnyside Cemetery and an affiliated firm, Affordable Memorials. In addition to his duties at the funeral home and cemetery, John is an adjunct instructor for the Funeral Services Program at St. Petersburg College.
John, like his father before him, is a Past President of the Florida Funeral Directors Association and currently serves as an Ambassador for the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. He has also held numerous offices and board position on both a national and state level in a variety of industry-related organizations. John is also the founder and managing partner of FuneralReview.Com, an online continuing education company for funeral service professionals.
In addition to professional involvement, John is actively involved in numerous civic and social organizations in St. Petersburg. He is currently on the board of Help-A-Child, Inc where he also serves as Treasurer. John is a 20+ year member of the Exchange Club of NE St. Petersburg where he is twice Past President. His other community involvements include serving as a Mentor in the Public School System, Suncoasters, Dragon Club, Everyone's Youth United, and numerous Masonic organizations. He is also a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
John is married to Nicole "Nikki" Paul and lives in Snell Isle Estates with their daughter and son.

Margaret "Maggi" McQueen

 | Margaret, the oldest of this McQueen generation, was born at the old Mound Park Hospital (now Bayfront Medical Center) and has lived in St. Petersburg her entire life. She was a member of the first graduating class of Shorecrest Preparatory School and then attended University of Tampa and University of South Florida. She graduated valedictorian of her class at Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. She is a licensed funeral director & embalmer.
Margaret served as the Company's President upon the untimely death of her father, and then as the Vice-President of Administration. Today, Margaret maintains a strategic role with the Company as a member of the Board of Directors.
Margaret has always taken an active role in the local community, including Junior League of St. Petersburg (Past Chair of the Thrift Shop & Placement as well as Corresponding Secretary), Women of Rotary (Past President), and Lupus Foundation of America - Greater Florida Chapter (Board member). She attends Victory Christian Center in St. Petersburg.
Margaret currently resides in St. Petersburg with her young daughter.

Becky Waldron

Becky was born and raised in Findlay, Ohio, and moved to St. Petersburg with her parents and brother in her sophomore year of high school. After graduating from Northeast High School, she attended St. Petersburg Junior College, where she received her Associates Degree. She lived in Gainesville for several years, Sarasota for a short time, and then returned to St. Petersburg where she was a legal assistant/paralegal for almost 30 years. In October of 2000, Becky joined the staff of Anderson-McQueen.
When she is not spending time with her family, Becky serves as Secretary of her Neighborhood Association and volunteers with various other community organizations.
Becky and her husband, Howard, are members of Allendale United Methodist Church and they reside in the Allendale Terrace area of St. Petersburg. She has two sons and one daughter, six grandchildren, a great granddaughter, two stepchildren and seven step-grandchildren

John A. Anders, CFSP

 | John , a native of St. Petersburg, was born at the old Mound Park Hospital (now Bayfront Medical Center). After graduating from Gibbs High School, he worked for Publix until he joined Anderson-McQueen as an apprentice director/embalmer in 1976.
John graduated with honors from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service and is a licensed funeral director & embalmer. One of our firm's most talented restorative artists, he also is a certified Eye Enucleation Technician for the Florida Lions Eye Bank.
John enjoys educating the local youth about death and dying through talks and tours with the area schools. His professional and civic involvements include St. Petersburg Junior College Funeral Service Program (Advisory Board Member), Northside Lodge #283 F&AM, St. Petersburg York Rite Bodies, Tampa Consistory, Egypt Temple Shrine, Sunshine City Kiwanis (President) and Royal Order of Jesters - Tampa Court.
John and his wife Sandi, reside in the Meadowlawn area of St. Petersburg. John has a young daughter and two stepdaughters.

E. Dean Gunter, CFSP

 | Dean was born and raised in St. Petersburg. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1971. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1968 where he was Captain of the Band and played in the percussion section. He received his Associate in Science Degree in Mortuary Science from Miami-Dade Community College in 1971.
Dean was involved in the formation of the Pinellas/Pasco Mortuary Disaster Response Team and is a member of the Florida Emergency Mortuary Operations Response System (FEMORS). He is a member of the Pinellas County, Florida and National Funeral Director Associations. Dean currently is working towards accredited certification in Death and Grief Studies through The Center for Loss and Life Transition in conjunction with Colorado State University.
Dean participates annually in the Pinellas County School District "Great American Teach In". He also is part of the 500 member "Awesome, Original, Second Time Arounders Marching Band" with which he is a bass drummer.
Dean and his wife Ellie live in Seminole. He has six children (3 girls and 3 boys) and a grandson.

Patrick O'Neal

 | Patrick was born in Evansville, Indiana and raised in Oakland City, Indiana. He represents the third generation of funeral directors in his family. Following high school graduation, he attended Vincennes University in Indiana where he earned his degree in Funeral Service Education.
He became a licensed funeral director & embalmer in Indiana and worked with his family firm where he concentrated his career development in the area of body preparation. Although doing very well with his family business, Partick relocated to Florida in 1998 and joined Anderson-McQueen's staff. Following his licensure in Florida, Patrick became our Preparation & Cremation Tribute Center Manager, responsible for supervising all activities in those areas.
In July 2002, Patrick married Kelly Holwerda, a native of Clearwater. They are members of Grace Christian Church in Largo where Patrick serves as an usher. Patrick and Kelly live in Clearwater with their son, Luke.

Melanie Meredith

Melanie was born in Boscobel, Wisconsin, and raised in Greybull, Wyoming.
After graduating high school, she moved to Spearfish, South Dakota and
attended Black Hills State University, where she was enrolled in the
Pre-Mortuary Science program. After completing the required coursework,
Melanie moved to Florida in May, 2001. Here she completed her education at
St. Petersburg College(then Junior College) in Funeral Services. Melanie
also began working at Anderson McQueen in June, 2001, as a funeral
associate. She received her associate's degree in Funeral Service in
December, 2002.
Melanie and her son, Weston, currently live in St. Petersburg

Carrie Orozco

Carrie was raised in Wauchula, FL and became involved in the funeral business in her junior year of high school. Working as an associate at the local funeral home, she knew that her heart was dedicated to helping families in their time of need. She moved to St. Petersburg in 1998 to attend St. Petersburg College where she obtained her degree in funeral service. Following graduation, she served her internship with Anderson-McQueen in 2003 and joined our staff as a licensed funeral director in January 2004.
In June 2005 Carrie married Ernest "Rozco" Orozco, a First Care Escort with Anderson McQueen. They attend Glad Tidings Assembly of God and currently reside in the St. Petersburg area with their three children: Brenden, Destin and Kaylie.

Kevin Davies

 | Kevin was raised in Oxford, Connecticut, and became involved in the funeral business in his senior year of high school. He attended Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where he earned his associate degree. Right after graduation, he continued to work for a Connecticut funeral home for several more years.
In 2001, Kevin moved to Florida and joined our firm as a Preparation Center Specialist. He is licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in both Florida and Connecticut.
Kevin and his wife, Heather, currently reside in St. Petersburg.

Carole A. McLeod
Continuing Care Coordinator

 | Carole was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved with her parents to St. Petersburg as a child. She graduated from an Orlando private school and attended Bixby's Business College.
While working for a local physician, she met a funeral director, Alan R. McLeod, and they married in 1963. In 1969, Al and Carole opened Alan R. McLeod Funeral Chapel in the Meadowlawn area of St. Petersburg. As with other growing family businesses, their son Alan Jr. joined the company during the 1980's. In 1994, the McLeod family elected to merge with Anderson-McQueen.
Carole always had an interest in bereavement counseling and started the Comfort Circle in 1985, one of the first bereavement support groups in the area. After joining with Anderson-McQueen, she was able to devote her full attention to the direction of our Continuing Care Program and became a certified Bereavement Facilitator through the American Academy of Bereavement.
Due to her involvement with many local organizations, she was named Largo Woman of the Year (1982). She has been a member of many different organizations, including Association of Death & Education Counseling (ADEC), Florida Federation of Women's Clubs (Past Executive Officer), and Suncoast Community Women's Club (Past President).
Carole's husband Al died in March 1999 of cancer. They have two grown children and two grandchildren. She currently resides in Seminole.

Judy Gresh

 | Judy, a native of St. Petersburg, was born at St. Anthony's Hospital. She graduated from Northeast High School, where she performed with the 'Gondoliers'. She attended St. Petersburg Junior College and worked several years for W. M. Zemp and Associates, Inc (later becoming Young and Rubicam Advertising). She later went back to school and graduated from the Dental Assisting Program of Pinellas Technical Education Centers. She worked as a licensed Periodontal Assistant and Receptionist for ten years before joining Anderson-McQueen in August of 1999.
Judy and her husband Bud, also a native of St. Petersburg and an Associate with Anderson-McQueen, are members of Lealman United Methodist Church and for several years sang locally in a gospel quartet. They live in the Tyrone area of St. Petersburg and have two sons, Michael and Matthew.

Diana Quinlivan

 | Diana was born and raised in St. Petersburg. She is a graduate of St. Petersburg High School and attended SPJC now St. Petersburg College. After high school Diana began her administrative assistant career at a cutting edge computer manufacturer. After a two-year stint in Charleston, South Carolina, while her husband Mike was on active duty with the US Navy, she and her husband moved back to the area and reside in Clearwater. Diana was a stay at home mom and for 12 years operated a Licensed Day Care in her home. When her daughter, the youngest of three children was in Middle School she decided it was time to work outside the home (with adults) and went to work at a computer software firm. When that company laid several people off, Diana began working part time at the Lealman United Methodist Church office where she and her family are very active members. From there she worked with the Lealman Family Center before coming to Anderson-McQueen in January 2000.
Diana's favorite job is watching her four grandchildren grow.

Jane Thompson

 | Jane was born in Toronto, Canada, the fourth of five children and moved to St. Petersburg with her family in 1963. She graduated from Northeast High School and St. Petersburg Junior College (now St. Petersburg College.) Jane joined the staff of Anderson-McQueen in 1995.
Outside of work, Jane enjoys reading, Yoga, growing Orchids and spending time with her family.
Jane has been married to Dennis Thompson since 1971 and they have two daughters. They reside in St. Petersburg.

Mildred Everth

Mildred was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to New York City with her family in 1978. She graduated from high school at the top of her class and went on to get a Business Administration degree from Berkeley College. For the first 14 years of her professional career she worked in banking in New York and then continued that when she moved to St. Petersburg in 1999. In 2006, Mildred joined Anderson-McQueen as a Family Services Director.
Mildred lives in St. Petersburg with her daughter and her little Yorkshire Terrier. In her spare time, Mildred likes to give back to her community as a First Degree Black Belt Instructor in Tae Kwon Do, a member of the American Business Women of America Association and the Area Agency on Aging, and as a Youth Leader at Pinellas Community Church.

 | Rozco was born in Hampton, Virginia. With a father in the military, his family moved quite often. In 1999, Rozco moved to Florida. He began working for our firm in 2001.
Rozco is married to Carrie, one of our funeral directors. They attend Glad Tidings Assembly of God and currently reside in the St. Petersburg area with their three children: Brenden, Destin and Kaylie.

Mark Young

Mark was born in Oak Lawn, Illinois and raised in nearby Hinsdale. In 2000, Mark met his fiance and they relocated to St. Petersburg in 2006. He has a dog and cat whom he considers to be a part of his family. Although they are states away, Mark makes it a priority to stay close with his family back in Illinois. Mark is thrilled to be in Florida and says that his work at Anderson-McQueen is providing a good foundation for the next phase of his life. |

 | Jim was born in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Fletcher High School in Jacksonville Beach. After receiving his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida, Jim moved to St. Petersburg and began a career with Florida Power Corporation. Thirty-three years later, Jim retired from Florida Power and began a second career with our firm.
Jim is extremely active in the community serving as an Elder and on the Board at Palm Lake Christian Church. He served as National President of the National Exchange Club in 1989-90 and remains active in his local Exchange Club. He is also a member of the "Suncoasters".
Jim and his wife Kay have three grown children and six grandchildren.

Gary Bartelt

Gary was born in Cleveland and moved to St. Petersburg in 1973 after serving 5 years in the Army. Gary then joined the Florida National Guard and retired with 22 years of service. While working for Bay Pines Veterans Hospital, Gary began his work at Anderson-McQueen as a part-time funeral associate and joined the staff full-time in 2006. Gary is very involved with his church, Hope Lutheran, where he is the worship, music and arts commissioner, as well as sings in the choir and drives the church bus. He also volunteers at St. Petersburg High School and the Florida Federation Color Guards.
Gary and his wife Kathy live in St. Petersburg and have 3 grown children.

Bud is a native of St. Petersburg and graduated from St. Petersburg High School. He attended St. Petersburg Junior College before joining the St. Petersburg Fire Department. He worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the city for 26 years, during which time he was honored with the Walter Patrick Award and the Paramedic of the Year award.
Bud lives in St. Petersburg with his wife Judy, who also works for Anderson-McQueen. They have 2 grown sons. |

Bill was born in a small town in western Pennsylvania and moved to Florida as a young boy. He served in the Navy for 7 years, with most of that time being stationed on aircraft carriers. Following his military service, Bill worked as an automobile mechanic. He joined Anderson-McQueen in 2001 and is currently attending St. Petersburg College Funeral Service Program to become a licensed funeral director.

Jillian Holzhueter

Jillian, a native of St. Petersburg, FL was born at Bayfront Medical Center. After attending Northeast High School, she broke into the funeral industry and became the manager and Senior design consultant for Affordable Memorials. This monument company now operates out of Anderson McQueen Funeral Home.
Aside from Jillian's main duty of working in Anderson McQueen's Accounting Dept., she continues to operate Affordable Memorials and she is also the director of CE Compliance for Funeral Review.Com (an on-line continuing education program for licensed Funeral Directors and Embalmers).
Outside from work Jillian enjoys spending time with her daughter, stepdaughter and 2 sons. Jillian and Jay reside in Seminole, FL.

Adria Chandler

Adria was born in Nashville, Tennessee and raised in Elletsville, Indiana. She started her funeral service career by working at the Chandler Funeral Home and went on to complete her funeral internship there. She received her Associates Degree in Funeral Service from the Mid America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana where she graduated in 2005.
In 2007, Adria relocated to Clearwater and began working as a Funeral Director with Anderson-McQueen.

Laurie Floyd

Laurie was born in Clinton, Iowa and moved to Florida at the age of six. She graduated from Riverview High School in Sarasota two years early because of her training with The Florida Ballet Company. Laurie was offered two scholarships at an early age- one with The National Ballet of Canada and the other a Ford Foundation scholarship with the School of American Ballet. She accepted the latter and studied under George Balanchine in New York City. She also studied and achieved membership with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance in London. During this time, she became a Principal Dancer with the Florida Ballet Company as well as toured and taught dance in the United States.
Laurie became interested in funeral service when she worked as a phlebotomist at St. Anthony's and All Children's Hospitals. She attended St. Petersburg College while raising her two youngest children and has hopes of continuing her studies in funeral service.
Laurie lives in Clearwater. She has a grown son, Shawn, and two daughters, Veronica and Marisa, along with many pets to keep her busy.

Katie Wuebbels

Katie grew up in Mascoutah, Illinois with her parents and three siblings. She graduated from high school in 2003 as valedictorian of her senior class. Following high school, she attended Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois and worked at a local funeral home. Katie then transferred to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale to complete her Bachelor of Mortuary Science degree, where she graduated Summa Cume Laude. She also served her practicum at a large, family-owned funeral home in Springfield, Illinois prior to receiving her degree in 2007.
Katie moved to Florida in May of 2007 and looks forward to serving the St. Petersburg community and its surrounding areas.

Jonathan Fuss

Jonathan was born and raised in West Hartford, Connecticut. He graduated from New England Institute of Boston, Massachusetts in 1975. He worked for a funeral home in Connecticut and received his funeral directors license in 1978 before relocating to Ft.Lauderdale Florida where he attended Miami Dade Jr. College and received an Associates in Science in Funeral Service Education in July 1979.
Jonathan worked for a Jewish funeral home until December 1984. In January 1985 he purchased a local funeral home, owning the business through May 1997. In November 1997 Jonathan opened 2 retail shoe stores in St.Petersburg and Tampa. Those businesses have been sold and two new stores have opened in Las Vegas, Nevada. Missing the funeral business he came to work with Anderson McQueen in 2004.
Outside of work he enjoys photography and old cars. Jonathan and his wife Shari are members of Temple Beth-El. They have 3 sons, Chad attends Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, Brett attends Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and Austin attends Shorecrest Preparatory School in St.Petersburg, Florida.

Kim Wasserman

Kim was born in Kentucky, but grew up in Port Charlotte, FL. She graduated summa cum laude from Manatee Community College. Growing up around a funeral home, Kim saw what people went through at the time of a death. She decided she wanted to help people, and thus began her career in Family Service over 15 years ago. Kim came to Anderson-McQueen in December 2007.
Kim has lived in St. Petersburg since January 2000 with her husband, Michael, who is a Captain for Airtran Airways. She has two grown, married children. Kim’s pride and joy are her grandchildren. She attends Calvary Chapel of St. Pete and works in the Mission’s Grill as a volunteer. She does fund-raising for an orphanage in Thailand where she and her husband recently went to help out. She’s a member of the Chamber of Commerce of St. Petersburg. She loves God, her family, people, healthy living, travel, music, and great food! |
Mary Buckland

Mary was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from the Creative Arts School in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a major in photography. After graduation, she moved to New York City and attended the American Academy McAllister Institute and graduated in 2001. Mary worked for two family-owned funeral homes in Queens for over five years. She then moved to Madeira Beach and has been with Anderson-McQueen since July, 2006. Mary is currently attending International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa majoring in fashion design and merchandising. |
